Applications now open for the 2026 Bruti Liberati Prize

Applications are now open for the Bruti Liberati Prize 2026, an annual €4,000 prize awarded to the best PhD thesis in mathematical and quantitative finance.

Promoted by the Bachelier Finance Society and the Department of Mathematics of Politecnico di Milano, in collaboration with Springer, the prize is open to theses on topics including derivatives pricing, computational finance, risk analysis, portfolio optimisation, probabilistic and numerical methods for finance, econometrics, and statistical methods applied to finance.

The initiative honours Nicola Bruti Liberati, who graduated in Mathematical Finance from Bocconi University and was a PhD student at the University of Technology Sydney. He had collaborated with the Quantitative Finance group of the Department of Mathematics at Politecnico di Milano.

The winning thesis will be selected by a committee appointed by the Bachelier Finance Society and may also be recommended for publication in a Springer book series.

The deadline for submitting applications is 29 January 2027 at 12:00 pm (Rome time)
